Schram Named 2014 Soccer All American

Dakota County Technical College Mens Soccer player Nathan Schram has been named a 2014 Division I Soccer All American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Schramis a sophomore from Inver Grove Heights, Minn. and attended Simley High School and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh before transferring to DCTC. He was one of the teams three captains and is a Business major with a 3.58 GPA. Schram was the only player named to the Division I squad from the NJCAA's Region 13 (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Northern Michigan).

As a player, Schram was a mainstay center fullback for the Blue Knights starting in 38 of the 39 games in his two year career, sitting out only one game due to leg injury.  Since 2013, Schramanchored a defensive back line that yielded only 40 total goals (1.02 goals against) while at the same time supporting near three goals a game for. "DCTC has had one of the nation's most difficult and competitive schedules. Nathan helped the program to a record of 30 wins, 8 losses and 1 tie in his time" said Head Coach Cam Stoltz. "You do not replace a Nathan Schram, you can only hope to fill his void and somehow replicate his value. He will be missed and this award is more than deserved".

In that same two year tenure, Blue Knight Men's Soccer was regional runner up (2013), won two Minnesota Kickoff Classic tournaments (2013 and 2014) and have been nationally ranked between 11^th and 20^th out of 145 Division I Mens Soccer Programs in the NJCAA.  This year's team finished 15^th in the final 2014 Division I NSCAA Rankings and 18^th in the final NJCAA Division I Soccer poll.

Head Coach Stoltz reported that Schram is the third All-American in the 11 season history of the men's soccer program at DCTC and the ninth All American Student-Athlete produced by the college's six athletics programs.
