
Men’s Soccer Streak to Five Straight Wins
Rosemount, Minn. - The Blue Knights Men's Soccer team won its fifth consecutive game on Monday defeating St. Olaf College 2-0 at Ames Soccer Complex. The shutout win comes on the heels of four previous consecutive wins and after the team lost two games against top ranked competition. DCTC improves to 5-2 on the season.
In Mondays Game, Michael Zziwa scored his third goal in as many games coming on as a substitute and giving DCTC the lead before half time. In the second half, Kapow Htoo scored with 15 minutes remaining in the game after Samuel Contreras slotted him a ball after beating two players into the penalty box. The Ole's were held to three shots all day while DCTC created 15 shots.
Cam Stoltz commented after the game: "we have been focusing on our system of play and how to attack the final third. The players are responding and they are tuned into our formation and tactics. What's evident is how we come out at kickoff each game, get to halftime and improve all game.
DCTC hosts Shattuck St. Mary's School on Wednesday and Bismarck State College on Friday, both games kickoff at 7pm. Next week DCTC travels to Century College on Wednesday September 23rd and then return home to face Anoka Ramsey on Friday at 5pm on September 25th.
